Dear All,
For your information, below is a copy of a message sent to students
yesterday in response to us being made aware of a case of academic
dishonesty:
------------------------------------------------------
Dear Students,
As members of the academic community, students are responsible for
ensuring that their work follows the University’s policy on academic
honesty. As you may be aware, we recently discovered that a number of
questions from online tests were uploaded to a tutorial support website
in order to procure solutions. This constitutes academic dishonesty.
The University & Department take these issues very seriously and will
take whatever steps necessary to preserve the integrity and reputation
of your degree. Note that these websites generally have an “honour code”
stating that they should not be used for the purpose of academic
dishonesty and thus have been willing to work with the University to
provide us with the necessary details.
If you are unclear as to what constitutes academic dishonesty please
read the following guidance:
https://www.strath.ac.uk/media/ps/cs/gmap/academicaffairs/policies/20130801_AcademicDishonestyGuidance_v2.0.pdf
If you have any questions or concerns about this, please get in touch
with your PDA or year coordinator.
Prof. John Jeffers & Dr. Alison Yao
------------------------------------------------------
Best regards,
Alison
