I am co-ordinating the Scottish heat of the IOP 3MW science communication competition. The details of the event are described below. Would you be willing to advertise this event to your department? The competition is open to early career researchers working in any physics-related subject, i.e. a researcher or member of a physics-focused project team (including those in business and/or industry) who is within the first 12 years of their career (allowing for career breaks) following the award of a first degree.

The IOP's national 3 Minute Wonder (3MW) science-communication competition returns. 3MW challenges researchers or project team members working on physics-related problems in academia, business or industry to explain their work in just three minutes; each participant pitching to a panel of established science communicators and an interested but non-specialist audience.



IOP Scotland are running a heat at 6pm on Tuesday 5th April 2022 in Glasgow. The winner will not only be featured in Physics World but will also compete again in the Grand Final (17 May 2022, Royal Institution) against the victors from all the other IOP national and regional heats.
