[Academic] Update on RKES

Hi

I have recently received an update from the RKES team which I would like you to be aware of.

Both Richard and Margaret have left the KE team in RKES for new positions.  The posts are currently unfilled and are being covered by other sections.
The Costing Team is currently helping cover the above and this is putting more pressure on the small team of people who provide us with so much help.
The Contracts Team is plagued by staff shortages and again this means additional pressures on a small team of people.

The department can provide lots of support with CPMs so please consult with Gail and myself prior to contacting the Costing team.  If at that stage we need to involve Costings then it limits the emails being sent and allows them more time to focus on the more challenging aspects of the costings.  Please DO NOT SUBMIT applications until all aspects of the costings have been checked.

With all this in mind please give RKES additional time to process applications and deal with contract enquiries.  The five day rule is a departmental timescale and not an RKES timescale, you need to factor in more time for this and as much time as possible especially when it involves complex costings or contract queries.

This is not an ideal situation but it is one we know about and it is one that we have to work with so please help support your colleagues by dealing with things as soon as possible and please be aware that if you do submit costings or queries to RKES with a tight deadline they might not be able to meet that deadline.
