[Academic] April+May Exams + invigilation reminder

Hi Everyone,

A reminder that there has been a University-wide decision that exam papers are no longer delivered to exams (don't get us started on this 🙂).
The lead invigilator collects all exam papers and equation sheets from the main physics office JA831 (or directly from Jacqueline in the adjacent room) at least half an hour before the exam on the day of the exam (this covers the possibility the lead invigilator becomes ill overnight - do not take exam papers off campus). Exams are starting at 9:30am or 2pm.
Ensure you collect all physics exams and equation sheets etc. required for your exam room, and try to get to the exam room in good time to lay out the exam papers.

Secondly, a final reminder of invigilation duties you have been assigned (attached), and University policy on invigilation (attached), especially for those new to exams.
The regulations include the item that to proceed an exam must have a minimum of two invigilators (one Invigilator in Charge and one other) for each examination room up to a maximum of 50 students.  At least one academic is required amongst the exam invigilators. One further invigilator will normally be appointed for each additional 50 students thereafter.

Catherine has organised all the separate rooms and invigilation for disabled students with concurrent exams.

Hi Everyone,

Further to Michaela's email on of 24th February with pre-warning of the April+May exam dates, please find attached the exam timetable with invigilator duties randomly assigned beyond the main teaching/checking staff.

Please check if you are available on the dates you are scheduled to invigilate, and if you can't make it then please find your own replacement and inform Michaela so we can update the list.  At least one academic is required amongst the exam invigilators. Reserves can leave as soon as it is clear the other invigilators are in place.
The lead invigilator may find it useful to add a calendar event for the exam for all invigilators and reserves, with phone contact details, copying in Michaela (and Catherine, who is in charge of the disabled student room arrangements) to the invite.

Michaela uploads them for printing (hence the separate 'Final Exam' pdf folder for idrive exams, which exam setters will be asked to cross-check) and then collect the printouts prior to the exams, and they are then securely stored in physics.

Some exams at first look like they don't have enough invigilators, and that's because other non-physics exams are scheduled at the same time (italicised) and you are not the Chief invigilator (which is otherwise indicated in that column by a *).
