Dear Colleagues,
You will find below a message that I sent to our Researchers this afternoon. The Department would highly appreciate if you were able to continue to support their engagement in our teaching activities and encourage the researchers under your supervision to contribute. Thank you very much for your support.
Best wishes,
Stefan

Subject: URGENT: Tutorial support needed
Dear all,
We are in the fortunate position that our first year student numbers have much increased compared to last year, and understandably, additional resources are needed for teaching delivery. The Department is urgently looking for researchers to contribute to teaching tutorial classes in all years this coming Semester. Let me start by thanking those of you who are already volunteering to contribute.
It should also be said that we see teaching as an essential part of a researcher's career development - and you will often learn some new physics, too! There is an expectation that every researcher in the Department contributes at least 10 hours per semester to teaching, and you are invited to contribute by supporting, for example, the teaching labs and tutorials for classes at all levels. The class coordinators will provide the material and also worked solutions to problems, which should minimize the workload for the tutors.
The Department (and most importantly, our students) would greatly appreciate your contribution. In case you are happy to help, please contact Jacqueline Gordon (jacqueline.gordon at strath.ac.uk<mailto:jacqueline.gordon at strath.ac.uk>) before Monday (11th Sept) and indicate your preferences for the type of classes you would like to contribute to.
Thank you very much in advance for your help!
Best wishes,
Stefan
