Dear PhD supervisors,

FYI - the email below has just been sent to PhD students at the end of years 1 and 2. They have been asked to liase with supervisors before booking slots for 1st/2nd year progress vivas in week 0 of semester 2 (8th Jan - 12th Jan). You will receive emails and calendar invitations generated by the YouCanBookMe scheduler.

Regards

Gordon

Subject: Delayed annual progress vivas for students at end of years 1 and 2

For students who were at/near the end of year 1 and 2 of their PhD in September (when annual reviews normally take place) :

Now that your annual reviews have been submitted on SPIDER, please arrange a day and time for your 1st/2nd year progress viva (duration : 1 hour), which will involve a viva chair (usually me) and at least one of your supervisors.

To do this :

  * Please liase with your supervisor or supervisors to determine when you and they are available *in the period Monday 8th January - Friday 12th January*
  * Go to the scheduling page at YouCanBookMe ( https://phd-progress-viva.youcanbook.me/) and select your preferred day/time in the period Monday 8th January - Friday 12th January
  * YouCanBookMe will generate emails and calendar invitations for all attendees. You can amend or cancel your booking if required.

If you cannot find a suitable slot in the period 8-12 Jan, please get in touch if you have not already done so in order to make alternative arrangements.

If you have any other questions, please get in touch.

Thanks & regards

Gordon
