Dear students,
I would like to let you know about an opportunity for summer research projects in the field of opto-electronics, funded by the Rank Prize (2024 Rank Prize Undergrad vacation grant<https://www.rankprize.org/grants/undergrad-vacation-grant/>). This scheme would allow an undergraduate student in the penultimate year of their degree to work in a research lab over the summer period, gaining valuable insight into careers in research and some of the cutting edge work going on in the department.
If you would be interested in a project in this area you can contact a potential supervisor working in photonics, optoelectronics or imaging, to discuss opportunities in their lab. Alternatively, you can contact me at Michael.strain at strath.ac.uk<mailto:Michael.strain at strath.ac.uk> to discuss areas of interest and I can help make introductions. Interested students should get in touch with me or potential supervisors by early February to allow time to prepare an application.
Best wishes,
Michael
