Dear all,
Could I kindly ask you to fill in the Single Source Justification with justification texts that match the reasons for single source.
The most commonly used justifications used in the Department are based on either
1. Unique technical specifications. If you chose this, please select the appropriate Category of Justification, mentioning "[...] b. competition is absent for technical reason" and then explain in your justification text which technical specifications are unique, and, if applicable, which other suppliers you consulted that could not deliver these specs
1. Products used for the purpose of research. If you chose this, please select "Where the products involved are manufactured purely for the purpose of research [...]". Then you need to explain in the justification text for which specific research project this is, e.g. EPSRC Grant XYZ, or, if there is no specific project to be mentioned, say something like "research in lab X by group Y".
Please don't mix up the two, e.g., when mentioning "used for research" there is no need to justify by describing unique technical specifications.
Many thanks for your help.
Best wishes,
Stefan
