[Academic] PH450 project allocation

Dear Colleagues,

Short summary: The PH450 Project allocation is now complete. The list is attached and a variant of the list is on MyPlace for students. Thank you for your help in making the PH450 projects happen. Especially big THANK YOU if you are supervising two or more projects across our suite of UG projects. You don't need to take any action or respond to this email until your normal working hours.

More details: This year's PH450 Project allocation was based on student project preference, dice rolls and, where appropriate, inclusive learning adjustments.  Some staff have two projects to help meet student preferences.  Students that did not submit by the deadline were allocated last.

The students have been advised of their project, asked to attend laser safety sessions (2/10/24 for EQOP/SILIS/IOP) and to contact you on Tuesday.  If you have no project students, you will be approached to mark UG projects and supervise PGT projects in due course.

Students that are unhappy with their allocated projects have been asked to contact me to review the unallocated project list which is online.

Please check the inclusive adjustments needs for your student and arrange to speak with them at your earliest convenience. I recommend that you remind them to attend the relevant laser safety sessions (details below).

More details will be sent to named supervisors next week.
