Dear Colleagues,

I would like to highlight a couple of European opportunities below.

Best wishes,
Michael

1. Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellowship scheme is available for post-PhD researchers who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills and develop their careers. Projects can be uploaded to the Crowdhelix site directly. Examples and link to create posts are available here<https://platform.crowdhelix.com/opportunities?filters%5Bc%5D%5B0%5D=16>.

2.The pre-publication draft of the Horizon Europe Work Programme is available. RKES have sent the following information:

The European Commission has pre-published the draft 2025 Horizon Europe Work Programme, providing insight into forthcoming funding opportunities across various thematic fields. The pre-publications provide details of anticipated calls worth over €7bn and offer solid foundations for planning and proposal development. (Please note that these are draft documents, not yet formally adopted or endorsed by the European Commission.)

If you are interested in collaborative projects with European partners, this is the time to consider the calls.

Access the draft programmes here: Horizon Europe work programmes – European Commission<https://research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu/funding/funding-opportunities/funding-programmes-and-open-calls/horizon-europe/horizon-europe-work-programmes_en#pre-publication-of-work-programme-2025>

Key Dates:

  * Formal adoption expected: May 2025
  * Most calls for the Pillar 2 Clusters are expected to open from May 2025 with deadlines in September 2025 (calls for Cluster 3 Civil Security for Society are expected to open in June 2025 with deadlines in November)

Information Days:
The European Commission will be running a series of official Horizon Europe Information Days<https://research-and-innovation.ec.europa.eu/events/horizon-europe-info-days_en> in the coming weeks. These sessions will provide:

  * Detailed overviews of call topics
  * Q&A opportunities with Commission representatives
  *   Matchmaking and networking prospects

Details of information sessions run by other organisations can also be found here on the RKES portal<https://strath.sharepoint.com/sites/rkes/SitePages/EU-and-International-Events.aspx>.

We encourage all staff to explore the draft work programmes and consider how your expertise could contribute to strong collaborative proposals.

If you are thinking about applying or would like to discuss your plans please get in touch with the RKES International Team (rkes-international at strath.ac.uk<mailto:rkes-international at strath.ac.uk> or katie.robinson at strath.ac.uk<mailto:katie.robinson at strath.ac.uk>)
