We invite you to join us at the first of a new annual series run by the
Computational Science Centre for Research Communities
<https://www.scd.stfc.ac.uk/Pages/CoSeC.aspx> (CoSeC) on Thursday the
9th of December between 10:00 and 16:00. This is organised as part of
the wider Computing Insight UK (CIUK) 2021
<https://www.scd.stfc.ac.uk/Pages/CIUK2021.aspx> conference at the
Manchester Central venue in the centre of Manchester.
A programme for the CoSeC at CIUK

event is attached to this email, however there will be four sessions
covering topics around cross-cutting CoSeC activities, exascale
computing activities, data science and grand scientific challenges that
exist across CoSeC’s communities. Details can be found online but as
this is a breakout session within CIUK, attendance can either be in
person or virtually.
To attend in either format you will need to register for the main CIUK
conference, which can be done here: https://cvent.me/L47YmB
Registration not only gets you access to the CoSeC at CIUK event on the 9th
but the full two days of activities within the main CIUK conference as
well, including exhibitions from major computing vendors within the UK
and a full technical programme from speakers involved in the
cutting-edge of computing for research from academia, industry and UK
government. The CIUK keynote will be Prof. Simon McIntosh-Smith of The
University of Bristol, who will present on “Heterogeneous Computing:
past, present and future”.
Early-bird fees for attending the conference in person end on the 19th
of November, the fees for attending CIUK and the CoSeC at CIUK event are:
·Early bird In-person fee (ending 19th November) - £50
·Standard In-person fee - £100
·Online fee - £50
The CoSeC team sincerely hope you are able to join us for the event, we
