Hi all,
Rach Dawson has been using the python package bfieldtools<https://bfieldtools.github.io/> to design biplanar PCB magnetic coils and then transfer these designs into KiCad for manufacture.
Rach has a unique understanding of how this process works and is happy to share this with the wider group. She has volunteered to do an interactive tutorial style lecture for anyone that is interested in learning how to use these programs. Everyone that attends is expected to bring their laptop with and work through her examples as she explains them to everyone.
The talk will be split into two parts: the first will involve a general explanation on how to create Helmholtz and anti-Helmholtz coil pairs (which is useful for everyone), the second part will cover biplanar PCB coils and transferring them to KiCad for manufacture. Those who are only interested in the first part are able to leave after this.
The information for this session is below.
Date: 24/06/24
Time: 1pm-4pm
Location: JA314
Requirements: Laptop with python (both sections), KiCad (PCB coil section only)
I look forward to seeing you all there and feel free to share this to anyone who may benefit from the session.
Thanks
Ilian
