Abstract
Biological imaging has undergone somewhat of a revolution in the last 10 years. Biologists now have the ability to visualise and quantify the positions, movements, dynamics, interactions and functions of large cohorts of single molecules, inside living samples, with nanometre certainty and millisecond temporal resolution. These techniques arise from a combination of some clever but simple biology with some sophisticated technology and physics. Here I'll talk about integrating these techniques with other biophysical approaches to provide multiplexed simultaneous measurement of intracellular molecular function with a focus on insulin secretion.
