Dear All,
The University, through the efforts of Dean Drobot and colleagues, have
money available to set-up cycle parking as well as some other cycle
related investment (a condition of the grant). Sustrans money more than
matched by the Univ to give £55k. Dean has a document out to tender to
cost various options - not all of which we will be able to afford. Hence
I'm looking for input in prioritising those near our building.
The document is available at
https://strathcloud.sharefile.eu/d/sa82713bc1744ac3b
I've then tried to use a doodle poll to record views of anyone who wants
to respond:

Please use yes/no/maybe to record preferences and add comments as you
wish. Please respond asap if you want to as I'm told decisions will be
made quickly (money to be spent within a near impossible time-window)
The options include:
1. Metal bars (Sheffield stands) outside L5 entrance
2. Lockers at L5 entrance - these would be hired
3. A cover for the racks outside L1 entrance
4. A 20 cycle, 2 tier, covered store on the walkway to Architecture at L4
5. A 20 cycle, 2 tier, covered store on the L5 concourse over by the
Wolfson Building
Specific questions/comments:
1. We will not get both #4 and #5 so please give a preference
2. Would you use the upper tiers on a two tier rack (requires bikes to
be lifted) ?
Looking forward to contributions. I plan to send something back on
Tuesday and maybe update after that.
Regards,
Rob
