 Dear All,

Please see the email below, which outlines the new online system for the authorisation, recording, etc of KE funded projects. It replaces the paper based (excel form) system we currently have.

 Best regards,
   Keith

Subject: Launch of New online KE funded projects data capture system (replacement for project costing form)

Dear David and Tony

Following previous correspondence regarding this some time ago, the online tool to replace the current paper based project costing and approval form (PCF) is now live on Pegasus under the Research and KE tab for all ds users to access.

The system replicates the requirements of the PCF but the online capture form allows for reliable, verifiable information on KE activity to be made available more widely and on a more timely basis to University systems. It will also reduce the manual intervention (and associated administrative burden) required to manage the data for reporting purposes.

Background
The system has been developed to enable data related to all income generating KE activity including consultancies, conferences and CPD/short courses to be input at source and managed through University systems in order to improve both the integrity and availability of KE related data.

Information input into the tool will be available in both PURE and SUNBIRD to support and simplify both internal and external reporting requirements on a real-time basis.

Process
There have been no changes made to the current approvals process. Projects still require departmental/school/Faculty approval in the same way that the current paper form needs to be signed off.

There have also been no changes to the processes managed by RKES and Finance.

Training materials
A video showing how to access and use the system can be viewed at http://youtu.be/6GP0N2iwm_g

Approvals
A separate communication will be sent to approvers to advise on the process.

Help
Any queries/comments should be directed to ke-projects-approvals at strath.ac.uk<mailto:ke-projects-approvals at strath.ac.uk?Subject=KE%20System%20problem%20reporting> in the first instance.

If you could forward this information to colleagues in your Faculty then that would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Paul
