Hello,
There have been a couple of cases in recent months of software being used without proper licenses. Software audits by the vendors have brought this to the Department's attention.
In most cases, the problem is staff using software licensed from a previous workplace, rather than cracked software.
Nevertheless, this is a breach of the University's IT policy, causes reputational damage to the Department and University, and may incur additional penalties.

Please ensure that the software you use is properly licensed.
If you have any questions about this, please contact me.
Thanks,
Timothy
