Hello,

Just as a general reminder because I've been forwarded some more polished spam emails sent to Department staff in the past week.

This one requests a user password. IT services will never ask for a password from you - if they need to, they will reset the password instead.

Another was offering a tax refund from HMRC!

IT would be updating all University of Strathclyde Email User Account Symantec Endpoint Protection communication which will improve the ability to identify and block spam, "phishing" attempts and other undesirable messages that flood our email system on a daily basis. Users may see the Symantec Endpoint Protection Windows notification pop-up during the switch kindly ignore.

What to do:


You are to provide your Account Login Details as requested below for Quarantine Exercise and Protection against SPAM by clicking your reply button and replying to this email as follows. (This will confirm your Strathclyde Account login/usage Frequency): Please be informed that we will delete all University of Strathclyde Email Account Users that do not adhere to this notice as part of our (inactive email-accounts / spam protecting) clean-up process to enable service upgrade efficiency.
