[Postgrad] 1st announcement of PG conference, reports and vivas for 1st year PhD students (and 2nd year CDT students)

Please find attached the 1st announcement of details regarding

- the PG conference at Ross Priory on 21st August
- end of 1st year reports and vivas

The 1st year reports will be completed on SPIDER using the new 
university-wide Annual Progress Report forms. As part of your report you 
are required to upload an extended written report of approx 3000 words. 
Please see attached guidance notes for details of the information you 
are required to provide on the form.

The procedure this year will be   :
- Student completes and submits parts 1A and 1B of the Annual Progress 
Report form on SPIDER.
- When the student submits parts 1A and 1B, the supervisor is notified 
and completes part 2 in advance of the viva.
- PG conference takes place
- Viva takes place involving supervisors and viva chair (termed 
"assessor" on SPIDER). Part 3 (assessors form) is completed on SPIDER by 
the assessor at the viva.
- Student "signs off" on SPIDER acknowledging feedback received
- PG tutor or HoD adds final comments and submits, locking the report

The deadline for students to submit parts 1A and 1B of the form is *9th 
August*.

2nd year CDT students - the annual pregress reports are still being set 
up on SPIDER for the CDT programme but should be available in a day or two.
