Dear Bronagh and Karina

Can I now respond to Karina's comment below as I have had the
opportunity to speak with the Science contact in the Andersonian Library?

"4 th year UG students can request journals from Glasgow University to
be shipped to Strathclyde University library for them to use, while
other UG students have no such privilege. Perhaps some arrangements
could be made through WestCHEM to allow better access to resources for
2-3 rd year UG students?)"

The Library states that final year undergraduate students cannot request
journals from Glasgow. They can, however, apply for an inter-library
loan. The Librarian has made enquiries and this facility is also open to
students in the lower year. This was not explicit on the Library website
but will be amended.

Additionally all students can use Glasgow University, but it is
reference only access.

Postgraduate research students can apply for reciprocal access which
gives good borrowing rights:
http://www.gla.ac.uk/services/library/usingthelibrary/informationforstudents/strathclyderesearchpgs/

Postgraduate taught or research students can apply for a SCONUL card
which again will give borrowing rights:
http://www.strath.ac.uk/library/usingthelibrary/usinglibraryservices/sconulaccess/

I think it would be useful to advertise this to our students and will do
so when they return to their studies.

Best wishes

Debbie
