Subject: FW: Info for Supervisors: PGR induction this week
Dear All,
As mentioned previously, this event clashes with the SUPA graduate School Induction that is taking place at Heriot Watt University on Weds 8th. This message is to reinforce the fact that attendance at the SUPA event is compulsory for our new PGR students and so this takes precedence over the event below.
Kayleigh will be sending out information regarding travel arrangements to HW in due course.
Best wishes,
Neil

Subject: [aca-res-staff] Info for Supervisors: PGR induction this week
Notice for PhD Supervisors: PGR induction this week!
The 2014 PGR induction for new students will be held this Wednesday, 8 October, 08.45 - 16.30. This year's programme has been revamped based on previous feedback to ensure the day is as informative and engaging as possible. The full day event will include an interactive session to introduce the PG Cert in Researcher Professional Development and credit requirements, more networking opportunities, as well as a keynote from motivational speaker, author and mountaineer, Dr Andy Cave.
Students will come together in the Barony for most of the day, before joining their Faculty-specific induction sessions mid-afternoon, and the attendance at the full day is worth 1 credit. Supervisors and administrators are welcome to attend all or any part of the programme.
Students registered any time after 1 June 2014 are also encouraged to attend.
Please ask your students to ensure they sign up to attend the PGR induction by logging in with their DS username and password at https://bookings.strath.ac.uk/courseDetails.asp?course=PGRI.
Best wishes
