As the Careers Adviser to the Faculty of Science I aim to write a regular bulletin to keep students (and staff) in the Faculty of Science informed about events, opportunities, job and deadlines that may be of interest. It is not intended to be comprehensive - more of a nudge to encourage you to check our events and vacancy listings, to keep an eye on what is happening and to raise awareness of useful resources, so......

CV Checking

There has been a very high demand for CV and application form checking appointments and the Careers Service recognises that many are having difficulty booking an appointment. To address this demand we are offering group coaching and would also encourage you to make the most of the resources we provide to help you write a strong CV or application: http://www.strath.ac.uk/careers/apply/ and drop on to the Careers service to pick up a CV booklet if you are passing.

Saltire Foundation Internships -

The Saltire Foundation offer fully-funded internships next summer, working on a project of real commercial significance to your host company.

To apply to become a Saltire Scholar you must be:


  *   In your penultimate year of undergraduate study at a Scottish university. Normally this is your third year if you're on a four year undergrad degree programme or your fourth year if you're on a five year undergrad degree programme (e.g. engineering or some languages courses).
  *   Completing your full course of study at a Scottish university.  Students from Scottish universities studying abroad for a year or semester can still apply, with Skype interviews used in place of speed interviews.
  *   Passionate about representing Scotland and building a more dynamic and vibrant Scottish economy for the future.
