EPS-QEOD Travel Grant Student Awards
The Quantum Electronics and Optics Division and Young Minds
Action Committee of the European Physical Society offer travel grants
for PhD Students wishing to attend CLEO®/Europe-EQEC 2017
Grants
10 Grants are available.
The monetary sums are 500 € for PhD Students working in a country of
the European Union (EU)
or 1000 € for PhD Students working outside EU.
The amount will be sent to the recipients by wire bank transfer.
Selection procedure and criteria
A Committee composed by QEOD Board members and EPS Young Minds will
review the applications.
Grants will be awarded to PhD Students having not yet defended their
thesis at the dates of the meeting.
Only one grant will be awarded per person and per research group.
Recipients must have an accepted oral or poster contribution at the
conference.
Application procedure
Applications must be made between October 17, 2016 and January 19,
2017 by using
the online system for conference submissions
(http://www.cleoeurope.org/)
There, a special item points to the EPS-QEOD Travel Grant Student Awards.
If you are interested in applying, below this item upload a
double-page pdf file detailing
(i) your name, surname and date of birth,
(ii) your complete affiliation,
(iii) the title and the 35-word abstract of your contribution,
(iv) the starting date of your PhD and expected date of the PhD defense,
(v) your list of publications limited to the five most significant
articles,
(vi) a support letter of your supervisor.
Notifications
Results of the selection Committee will be sent to the applicants from
March 17, 2017.
