Subject: EPSRC Doctoral Prize 2017
SENT ON BEHALF OF DEPUTY ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL (R&KE), PROFESSOR BILLY KERR
Dear Colleagues
Please draw this to the attention of your eligible PhD students
We are pleased to announce a call for the 'EPSRC Doctoral Prize' funded by the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership. The prize funds a 1 year salary for an outstanding researcher to develop their research activities following completion of PhD studies. Candidates must have had EPSRC funding for their PhD and must have completed their PhD Viva by the start of the Doctoral Prize project (approximately between May and October 2017).
When assessing the applications the Panel will be looking for evidence of:
* the excellence of the researcher;
* the quality of the research proposed;
* how this research is substantively new and different from your PhD work; and
* the role of the proposed research in advancing the career prospects of the applicant.
Interested candidates should complete the application form found on the R&KE Portal.<https://moss.strath.ac.uk/rkesportal/Research/SitePages/PGR%20funding.aspx> The deadline is the 10th March 2017.
Regards,
Billy
