Dear Strathclyde PhD student,
sorry to disturb you but the PostGraduate course SUPASTA (Semi-quantum Theory of Atom-Light Interaction)
would be on offer to PhD students at Strathclyde in the second Semester under the code PH562
(Advanced Topics in Quantum Optics). It will take place on Mondays from 1 to 3 pm in GH/510 and on
Wednesdays from 11am to 1 pm in GH/739. PhD students are expected to follow PH562 for the first 6 weeks
only (of course if they want that can also attend PH562 until the end of the semester), will be evaluated with
the traditional essay and presentation separately from the undergraduate students and with the same rules
that have been applied to SUPASTA in the last 10 years or so. PH562 will start on Monday 16 January 2017.
If you are interested in taking SUPASTA under these arrangements in the academic year 2016/2017, please
let me know. We have 5 Strathclyde PhD students registered already.
Thanks.
Best wishes,
gian-luca oppo
