NHS Scientist Training Programme (STP) Information Session: Medical Physics

When? Wednesday 15th February 1:30-2:30pm

Where? JA506

Who should attend? The Scottish Medical Physics & Clinical Engineering Training Scheme  is recruiting candidates with a First or Second Class Honours Degree in Physical, Computing or Engineering Sciences for entry to the training scheme for Medical Physicists and Clinical Engineers. You can apply if you are in your final year/PGT/PGR but this session may be of interest from 2nd year onwards.

This session is delivered by a Medical Physicist and will cover the following points:

  *   Current Training Scheme in Scotland
  *   Clinical Scientist Careers in the NHS
  *   An overview of working in Nuclear Medicine

This is a great opportunity to find out more about what is involved and to hear about the experiences of the presenter; you will have the opportunity to ask questions so this session will be of interest whether you are intending to apply now or simply keen to find out more about this career path.

There will be two open days for applicants to the NES-funded Clinical Scientist Training Scheme:

For the Medical Physics Scheme, the open day is Saturday February 18th at Gartnavel General Hospital, 0900-1230.
For the Clinical Engineering Scheme, the open day is Monday February 20th at the Medical Devices Unit, West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital, 14:00-16:00.
