[Postgrad] SCOPE - Company visit to OPTOS (Dunfermline, Tuesday March 28 - afternoon) - register before March 17!

SCOPE (Strathclyde's Student Committee for Optics, Physics and Engineering) is organising a tour of Optos, an innovative SME based in Dunfermline and leading the field of wide-field retinal imaging. (Some of you may have experienced their "optomap" retinal mapping systems when going for an eye test !). The company develops a range of technologies, from laser ophtalmoscopy to optical coherence tomograpy, to enable early detection and treatment of eye diseases.

This is an exciting time to visit the company as Optos is growing fast, with a strong focus on R&D and image analysis, and are regularly looking to hire graduates in physics/photonics/engineering. We will have a chance to tour their facility on Tuesday March 28, 2:00pm to 4:00pm onsite (we will leave from Glasgow around 1pm). This will be the chance to discover the company from the inside, and for informal discussions with the Research director, and engineers in R&D, product development, and HR.

According to Optos' capacity, the number of attendees will be limited and we encourage you to sign up now ! Registration is open to PhD students, Master students and postdocs. Travel will be paid for for SCOPE members, who will also have priority over non-members. Please note that if you are a student member of the Institute of Physics, the Optical Society of America or the European Physical Society, you can automatically and immediately join SCOPE for free by just sending us an email at scope at strath.ac.uk<mailto:scope at strath.ac.uk> with your membership details.
