Subject: Promotion of Masterclass event.

Hi all,

The Researcher Development Team in collaboration with Professor Dame Anne Glover, Special Advisor to the Principal, are running an exciting Masterclass event on the 1st November titled Evidence, Policy and Politics.

This event, designed for Postgraduate Research students, offers an insight into policy development, decision making and strategies for research funding. It will explore the interface between research and policy making with presentations from three fantastic guest speakers:

*         Professor Dame Anne Glover, President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Special Adviser to the Principal at Strathclyde,

*         Professor Graeme Reid, Chair of Science and Research Policy at University College London and visiting professor at the University of Strathclyde

*         Catherine Stihler, Member of European Parliament for Scotland
Participants will engage with the concepts presented and identify ways that researchers, policy makers and politicians might better work together.
