Dear colleagues,

As you may be aware, this year's Images of Research competition is open to entries, however, the deadline is fast approaching. We are keen to ensure as many departments, across all faculties, are represented as possible, so that the resulting exhibition accurately demonstrates the wealth and breadth of Strathclyde's research. We have much to celebrate and the Images of Research exhibition is an ideal vehicle to showcase our work far and wide.

The deadline is Sunday 27th January, however, we will be extending this to Sunday 10th February to enable more people to submit an entry. Could I ask you to please encourage researchers, academics and students embarking on research projects - regardless of phase - to enter the competition, so that their great work has the opportunity to be celebrated and to reach a wide audience, which includes the public and industry?

All category winners receive a canvas print of their entry and the overall winner and runners up receive cash prizes. However, the touring exhibition has the potential to provide the most returns for their efforts. Opportunities are constantly sought to showcase the exhibition in public spaces, funding body headquarters and industry venues. A highlight of the previous tour was a week-long installation at the European Innovation Summit held at the EU Parliament.

Prospective entrants can get in touch with the team - where a wealth of assistance is available - at: imagesofresearch at strath.ac.uk<mailto:imagesofresearch at strath.ac.uk>. All the information, including hints and tips for a great entry, are available at: www.imagesofresearch.strath.ac.uk<http://www.imagesofresearch.strath.ac.uk>.

Many thanks
Janine Capaldi
