In light of the very unusual circumstances, we’re aware that some PGR
students may be quite isolated. The University's Doctoral Researcher's
group may be a useful source of information and opportunites for
interaction between students. Details (including links to Facebook and
Twitter pages/accounts) can be found at
https://www.strath.ac.uk/theresearcherdevelopmentprogramme/doctoralresearchersgroup/
Some supervisors/groups in the Department are already active in
communicating with their PGR students, but in order to ensure that all
PGR students have at least some opportunity to interact a series of
virtual "coffee breaks" for Physics PGR students has been set up on Zoom.
They are set to run each day from 11.00 - 11.30 starting tomorrow
(Tuesday). They are entirely optional and informal. To join, use the
following link :

Meeting ID: 909 199 920

A reminder that in addition to contacting the department directly, you
can also raise issues via the departmental PGR reps :
Alana Horne (Plasmas) : alana.horne at strath.ac.uk
Lewis Hill (Optics) : lewis.hill at strath.ac.uk
Matat Jablon (Nanoscience) : matat.jablon at strath.ac.uk
Sean Bommer (IoP) : sean.bommer.2014 at uni.strath.ac.uk
