Project ORION (Opportunity Renewables Integration Offshore Networks)
The University of Strathclyde is to support Shetland to become an international clean energy hub under ambitious plans that will also see major oil and gas fields become net zero by 2030.
Strathclyde has joined Project ORION (Opportunity Renewables Integration Offshore Networks) which will see onshore and offshore wind energy harnessed to power platforms and produce green hydrogen at scale. Wind and hydrogen will also be used to power the Islands’ homes and businesses, replacing fossil fuels by providing affordable renewable energy.

Handheld laser devices that help surgeons quickly identify liver damage could transform transplant procedures, according to research involving the University of Strathclyde.
The non-invasive technique could provide medical staff with instant data on the health of donor livers and help them to identify which organs are suitable for transplant.
If widely adopted, the light-based tool could allow more livers to be transplanted safely and effectively, experts say.

Strathclyde Sport is delighted to have partnered with the country’s leading sports injury and rehabilitation centre, Hampden Sports Clinic, with its on-campus physiotherapy service open from today (25 May).
Hampden Sports Clinic will work with you to develop a bespoke programme that supports your goals, whether it is recovering from injury, regaining your mobility, or improving your fitness.
This can be as simple as walking again after a significant injury, getting back to your favourite pastime or improving your fitness to smash your PB in your next marathon.
