Subject: Responsible Research and Innovation course

Dear All,

I would be grateful if you could flag this course to all relevant contacts in your networks.

Funded through our EPSRC Impact Accelerator Account, the Research & Knowledge Exchange Services Environment & Impact Team and Strathclyde Executive Education and Development team have created a Responsible Research and Innovation course which will provide tools to ensure a responsible innovation and research environment. This will replace our successful 3 day residential 'Pathways to Responsible Innovation' course that the University of Strathclyde previously delivered, with delivery now taking place via online activities, videos and readings and led by our academic champions Jillian MacBryde and Marissa Smith and Strathclyde Executive Education and Development (SEED) .

The programme is aimed at Research Staff, Impact Champions and PhD students including those based in CDTs along with Industry based partners working on collaborative projects (in due course). It will be delivered over a 5 week period through a blend of asynchronous online learning supported by approximately two half days of face to face/online synchronous delivery (pending current restrictions), with assessment for a total of 20 credits.

Some of the key topics covered are outlined below:

  * Benefits and features of Responsible innovation for all stakeholders
  * Drivers for responsible innovation and its role within the research and innovation landscape
  * Role of Responsible Research and Innovation within both academic and industry context
  * Tools, processes and frameworks for developing innovations responsibility, how to create and embed into own practice
  * Identification of and engagement with research/innovation users
  * Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within innovation

The first course will commence on the 20th September 2021, with further courses taking place in 2022. Attendee numbers will be limited to no more than 30 per course. Online applications for this programme and now being accepted, please apply here<http://pegasus.strath.ac.uk/forward/applicantentry/#/?ppio=275123> by 5th September 2021. Should you wish to discuss the programme in more detail, please contact exec.education at strath.ac.uk<mailto:exec.education at strath.ac.uk>.

Kind regards,

Jonathan
