[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v2files/shard1/85313/a2/454cc21cce42e7d85a65ac.jpg]Last week the Executive Team reviewed the University’s COVID-19 mitigation measures and have endorsed our continued adherence to the Scottish Government’s Safer Workplaces guidance<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/noc9rrtnvlfw5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=61278823&t=31139365> and any sector guidance provided.
This means that the wearing of face coverings will continue to be required by law in all indoor communal areas, including the library, throughout the Learning and Teaching Building, teaching spaces, offices and laboratories.
The latest guidance does allow for face coverings to be removed in certain limited circumstances at work, where 1m distancing, partitions or screens are in place, and this will be part of the ongoing review of risk assessments.
With regard to physical distancing, even though the law no longer requires it, the University continues to advise keeping a reasonable distance (1m) from others to minimise risk – especially when indoors and in enclosed places.

Weather warnings: Storm Dudley & Storm Eunice
Reminder for staff on campus to close windows
[Livingstone Tower]The Met Office has issued weather warnings for the Strathclyde area.
Storm Dudley is expected to affect the UK on Wednesday night and Thursday, bringing a period of very strong and disruptive wind. Storm Eunice is also expected to bring high winds to parts of Strathclyde and snow for much of Scotland on Friday. The guidance is for staff who are involved in developing and recording Audio and Video teaching resources for online provision, and for content outside of teaching provision, including the recording of webinars, podcasts or conference presentations.
Approval by Senate concludes a lengthy and robust process with consultation and input from Strathclyde Online Learning Faculty Representatives, the Unions, Human Resources, and the Information, Governance and Compliance Unit.
The new consent forms and guidance supersede all previous versions.

Since the start of the academic year, it has marked the occasion with a number of activities and events, such as its 50th Anniversary Research Seminar Series and the ‘50 Years of Teaching and Learning’ Poster Competition which was run with schools across Glasgow.
The Department has started the “50 Miles for 50 Years Challenge” which invites as many people as possible to take to the great outdoors – to walk, run, swim, roll and cycle their way to 50 – raising a bit of money for charity along the way.

The Centre for Sustainable Development, Strathclyde Doctoral School (SDS) and OSDU invite you to two training events which will be held to build capacity, share skills and perspectives.
These are open to all research staff and PGRs, and will tackle areas that are key to developing and delivering successful funding applications and research.
The sessions will share both theory and good practice, using examples, case studies and experiences of staff from a wide range of disciplines from across the University.
