HR case study
[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v2files/shard1/85313/48/8fded63d8844f5706c1dc2.jpg]Like most colleagues across the University, the HR Department had predominantly been working remotely since the start of the pandemic.
When the new academic year started in September 2021, the department felt that there needed to be a greater presence of HR staff in the office to support those colleagues who had returned, or were continuing, to work on campus.
A six-week pilot began in September, presenting a valuable opportunity to try out new hybrid ways of working, based on the Agile Working Toolkit, whilst adhering to the protection measures in place.

Last week we celebrated International Women’s Day and Strathclyde Women’s Week, an opportunity to recognise the achievements of women across Strathclyde and discuss how the University is working to enhance the experience of women at work.

These free physiotherapy led Pilates classes are suitable for those recovering from injury, have a vulnerability, new to exercise or just want to try a new exercise that can be done at home.

Redevelopment of George Square

Business School students help the community while gaining valuable real-world experience

The MDP3 Social Responsibility Pathway is designed to give students experience of working with initiatives and external organisations in real life contexts while engaging in work with a positive social dimension.
Since 2014, successive cohorts of third year students have been working with Annette Street Primary School in Govanhill, an area with high levels of deprivation.
In that time, 63 students have worked for an approximate total of 5,500 hours in the school and have raised over £12,000 through running a variety of events and initiatives.

Gillian McConnell is a Teaching Fellow for the Masters in Autism Programme, and the Course Leader for the full time MSc and part time Med in Autism Studies.
