The nominations also include a further two for Strathclyde Student's Union, Strath Union, which was also shortlisted in the Widening Access and Supporting Student Wellbeing categories of the awards.
Dr Veena O'Halloran, formerly University Secretary and Compliance Officer, has been shortlisted for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Update on the new system and share your views
[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v2files/shard1/85313/6b/a85a4eae243f25a21f1fd9.jpg]The University’s existing in-house car parking management system is due to be replaced in the next Academic year and we are pleased to announce that we have recently appointed a supplier to deliver this new system.
The system will offer a greater degree of flexibility and will help maximise the use of the available car parking spaces in an Agile Working environment, by offering a broader range of parking permit options.
We are now seeking our colleagues’ views to help us shape and improve Strathclyde's car parking procedures and policies, and to allow us to establish the current and future demand for electric vehicle charging and parking on campus.
The short survey is aimed at anyone who currently takes the car to work, or who plans to do so on their return to campus.

Pilot initiative in the gym
[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v2files/shard1/85313/8b/7b0ee1632caa0724ebc175.jpg]The team at Strathclyde Sport know that for some users having a female member of staff on duty helps make them feel more comfortable in the Strength & Conditioning area of the gym.
As such, they are piloting an initiative over the next six weeks where every Wednesday, from 2-5pm, only female members of staff will be on shift.
As a reminder, the following memberships are currently available to staff:
- Staff Monthly Direct Debit: £25.65
- Staff + Partner Monthly Direct Debit: £44.52
- Multi-Visit Pass (10 visits for the price of 7): £35

It runs term-time for students and staff, with weekly sessions available to attend free of charge.

Aims to encourage ECRs from the economic and social sciences

Children feel that justice should create an opportunity to learn from mistakes, get access to support, and lead to everyone having a second chance, according to new creative research by the Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ).
The new research was praised by the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Veterans, Keith Brown MSP, who visited CYCJ last week.

The challenges faced by older people, particularly those with sensory impairments, in their pharmaceutical care are to be addressed by PhD students at the University of Strathclyde.
The University has received £199,500 from the Dunhill Medical Trust to fund four studentships, in which students will explore solutions to the most frequent difficulties for older people with impairments to their hearing or vision.
