Dear PG Cert team,

My essays for the PG Cert have been approved by my supervisor and are awaiting sign-off. I would like to enrol in summer graduation if possible, so if this process could be accelerated, I would very much appreciate it.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Jan Schniete

Hello,

As you are aware, we are approaching the deadline for awards to be approved ahead of summer graduations. In order for PhD candidates* to graduate, they must have completed the PG Cert RPD, which means all five essays must be reviewed by both their supervisor and one of our team.

To facilitate the graduation of PhD candidates who intend to graduate this summer but have not yet completed the requirements for the PG Cert RPD, we have set aside some time outside of our usual cycle to review essays and return marks.

If there are any PhD candidates in your department/school who are intending to graduate this summer, but have not yet had all their essays reviewed, please let me know by Tuesday 17 May 9am at the latest. If you are unsure of the PG Cert RPD status of any soon to graduate students, then please get in touch and I can let you know.

Supervisors of these students now have until Tuesday 24 May to mark any outstanding essays to give us time to review them and return any late marks before the deadline given to us by Student Business. The essays are still subject to the marking criteria, so we cannot guarantee that students with late submissions will meet the requirements of the PG Cert RPD in time for summer graduation. Please communicate this to any supervisors of soon to graduate PhD students.

Any PG Cert RPD essays belonging to students who are not intending to graduate this summer will be reviewed in the usual cycle. We publish the dates for the cycle on our website under ‘Assessment’<https://www.strath.ac.uk/studywithus/postgraduateresearch/researcherdevelopment/forstudents/pgcertinresearcherprofessionaldevelopment/assessment/>.

Many thanks,
Vici & Debbie
