The updated policy<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/3wzz54orj74w5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=61972042&t=31139365> removes the qualifying requirement for staff to have at least 26 weeks of continuous employment with the University before submitting a flexible working application.
Now, the procedure applies to all staff as a right from day one.

ARCHIE-WeST now open to students at no cost
[binary computer code image of 1s and 0s]As part of the recent expansion to ARCHIE-WeSt (the University’s High Performance Computing facility) we now have GPUs available to undergraduate and PGT students at no cost.
Nvidia P100 GPUs
We have eight compute nodes each with a Nvidia P100 GPU installed which can be used for AI and machine learning projects, as well as for numerical simulation for certain applications. The P100s are high-end GPUs with 3584 CUDA cores and 16GB RAM. We install and maintain standard AI software frameworks such as Tensorflow, Torch, pyTorch, Keras & scikit-learn. Other software can be installed on request.

Embarking on entrepreneurial journey while studying

Currently, in his third year of the BEng Product Design Engineering course, Robbie MacIsaac has bagpiped since the age of 15, allowing him to travel around the world to do so.
This experience enabled him to come up with a solution to a potentially deadly health issue that affects pipers on a global-scale – piper’s lung disease.
