As more programmes are starting in January, and with our increasing PGR community, it is ever more important that our processes and systems are able to support students whose programme of study doesn’t start at the beginning of the traditional academic year.
The Anniversary Registration project is helping to address the issue by implementing a system-wide change that challenges the fundamental assumptions around the timing of programmes and student registration points.

We are delighted to host the inaugural Young Strathclyders<https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/cvg4pnmkid/1i6m1wam6amw5sb93d38j4/external?email=true&a=5&p=62816058&t=31139368> Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 31 May in the Barony Hall and we are looking for volunteers to help out to make this day as memorable as possible for our graduates.
Roles would involve registering groups on arrival, helping the children with their gowns, helping them find their seats and line up to cross the stage, and generally helping to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for everyone taking part.

[Focus groups]The University is preparing an institutional proposal for funding on a large-scale research culture project from the Wellcome Trust and is looking for your input.
Focus groups will run on three dates in the last week of March (28, 30, 31 March) and will explore challenges and barriers that affect current culture as well as ideas for improving our research environments.
The outcomes from these sessions will be used in an anonymous format to inform the development and direction of Strathclyde’s project proposal.

[Telephone wires]The University’s telephone infrastructure is being upgraded in preparation for Openreach’s analogue switch-off in 2025, and we’re moving to an enhanced hybrid telephone system.
Once the upgrade is complete, staff will benefit from additional telephone features, while maintaining their existing physical desk phones and phone numbers.

[Students in PC labs]Information Services (ISD) are currently preparing for the delivery of central student computing for the academic year 2023-24.
ISD provide and maintain software on 1500 computers across campus.

A local partnership of business, public sector and academic institutions led on selecting the project proposals to go forward, working closely with Innovate UK.
