The EmilyTest was created by Fiona Drouet after her daughter, Emily, took her own life in 2016 following a campaign of abuse and violence by a fellow student.

The team ask for your help in promoting the survey to first year students and any PGR/PGT students who have started in September or October, as this is the most effective method of encouraging student participation.

She shares her Strathclyde story, what inspired her to enter her profession and a current project she is working on which is exploring entrepreneurship as a lens to educate, mentor and support vulnerable women in Scotland.

In celebration of the University’s Diamond Jubilee and Black History Month, from today (1 October) the Race Equality Staff Network has located a world map on level three of the Learning and Teaching Building.
All staff are invited to mark their country of origin or home country on the map with the stickers provided, creating a visual display of Strathclyde's diverse international community.
For those unable to visit the physical map, there is a digital version using Google Maps, where staff can anonymously add their country of origin. The digital map is available for everyone to contribute.

[https://universityofstrathclyde.newsweaver.com/v3files/shard1/85313/83/0d1306cb6631641c5087fc.png]This event will present a sample of the work conducted as part of a year-long Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded project exploring the challenges involved in embedding anti-racism and Black history within a range of Scottish heritage institutions.
It will feature a discussion with former French football star, Lilian Thuram, whose anti-racism foundation has been working with staff at Kelvingrove Museum to design educational materials to support their new, permanent exhibition, ‘Glasgow, City of Empire’. This will be followed by a roundtable featuring work across Scotland.
