Glasgow has been unveiled as a UNESCO Learning City in recognition for outstanding achievements in lifelong learning – the only city in Scotland bestowed this honour to date.



Professor Scott MacGregor, Vice Principal of Strathclyde and chair of Glasgow Economic Leadership (GEL) Higher & Further Education work stream, accepted the award on behalf of the Lord Provost and the city at the ceremony in Saudi Arabia.



He said: "Since our foundation as the place of useful learning, Strathclyde has been committed to widening access to education for the people of Glasgow and beyond."

[LGBTQI+ at Strathclyde: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration]



On 20 November, the University hosted the ‘LGBTQI+ at Strathclyde: A Diamond Jubilee Celebration” event. Led by the University’s LGBTQI+ Working Group, the event was a culmination of two years’ work to enhance visibility of LGBTQI+ people at Strathclyde.



Organised by the Equality & Diversity Office, based within Student Experience, this event considered the past, present and futures of LGBTQI+ lives at Strathclyde and the local area.

The system will use single-pixel imaging to measure activity in the brain, and the researchers aim to complement existing technology by enhancing its fidelity while also making the process safer and less expensive.
