Hello all
Saw an event that I thought might be of interest to you in terms of building your network of folks interested in public engagement with research, either as a sideline or a main part of your job. You might be particularly interested in the opportunity to talk directly with funders in a surgery slot.
All the best
Kirsty
P.S. And it’s free!

ScotPEN social (following on from the Annual Meeting for PEPs in Higher Education and Research)
ScotPEN is an inclusive network of people involved in public engagement in Scotland. We provide peer support, collaborative opportunities and a voice to shape and share good engagement practice.
Please come and join us for a social get-together to share ideas and make connections. This social is open to all and the provisional plan is:
- Networking and drinks in the Beer Bar (Glasgow University Union).
- Show and tell: 'bring a thing' or a poster in the Debates Chamber and Reading Room.
- Bookable surgery sessions with Lewis Dean (UK Research and Innovation); Heather Lusardi (National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement) and Becky Jones (Wellcome).
If you're interested in a surgery session, please indicate this on the booking form. Other ideas for what would make this social useful/fun/interesting are also welcome, on the form or by email to mvls-engage at glasgow.ac.uk<mailto:mvls-engage at glasgow.ac.uk>
All the best,
Kirsty
