Following the success of last year’s inaugural festival, the Institute of Physics is now accepting event applications for the 2018 Scottish Festival of Physics.

The festival will take place from Friday 26th October – Sunday 28th October inclusive at Dynamic Earth<http://www.dynamicearth.co.uk/> in Edinburgh.

The event will be a celebration of the role that physics plays in our world and beyond, with an emphasis on cross-disciplinary content that demonstrates the intersections of science and other forms of culture, and celebrates the roles of Scottish physicists in the inventions and discoveries that have shaped our lives and culture. We particularly welcome ideas that highlight the links between physics and other aspects of society, such the arts, culture, history and the environment.

The programme will include an adult event strand alongside teen, family and early years offerings, so  we are seeking inspiring and interactive content in the form of workshops, shows, talks, debates, games and art for a range of ages.

This year, the theme of the festival is Time. We would be keen to encourage submissions of content that explores or is related to this theme, although it is not prohibitive.

The call for ideas will run from 4pm on Monday, 11th June until 4pm Wednesday, 11th July.
