Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow Tristan will present his recent submitted papers during the group meeting. Here is an abstract:

"Entanglement of high-dimensional quantum systems has become increasingly important for quantum communication and experimental tests of quantum effects, such as Bell nonlocality and EPR steering. However, many effects of high- dimensional entanglement can be simulated by using multiple copies of low-dimensional systems. I will present a general theory to characterize those high-dimensional quantum states for which the correlations cannot simply be simulated by low-dimensional systems. This approach leads to general criteria for detecting multi-level entanglement in multiparticle quantum states, which can be used to verify these phenomena experimentally [1]. In addition, I will present a closely related concept of genuine distributed (or correlated) coherence, that is coherence that cannot be actively localised on individual systems by means of incoherent unitaries, a class of free operations within the resource theory of coherence [2]."

The local and time will be the JA 8.24 at 11am.

Also, next week, on Tuesday 30th January, you probably know that there is a QUSICO meeting in Edinburgh (http://quisco.org.uk/?p=346). Since a lot of people might be interested in going there, we decided to postpone the planned group meeting until the 20th February.

See you tomorrow !

François
