The heating is not yet on across the campus as most building are generally maintaining 19°C.

All sensors on L6 returning 19-21°C, one room at 24°C.
Most sensors on L8 returning 19-21°C; one sensor near room 619 (north) is returning 18°C, which we will investigate.

I have posted you thermometers via internal mail. I would advise your staff to a) use the thermometer to monitor local space temp and b) officially log a complaint via the helpdesk if is drops below 19°C. An engineer will then be sent out, and a resolution recorded which can be monitored.

A Utility Management policy is attached which include info on space heating.

It is a touchy subject, but clothing is usually an issue which I have to address, sensitively. Unfortunately Scottish weather, combined with older building stock, does not allow us to maintain an internal environment conducive to year round 'summer' clothing. Over heating is a huge issue on campus, with some areas exceeding 28°C as a result of accommodating individual requests for room temp boosts. My preference, and our policy, is to maintain 19-20°C at all times, with deviations addressed directly by Estates.

I'll ask Ian to investigate the north side of your building, near room 619.

Cheers

Subject: JA building temperature

Dear Dean,

I'm fielding a few complaints about how cold it is in the JA building (level 8 and level 6 have been mentioned).
Is there any message I can feed-back to staff? Can you get us temperature information from these levels?

Thanks,

Rob
