[Academic] 90th Anniversary meeting at the Institute of Physics

I thought I should let you know this year is the 90th Anniversary of Measurement Science and Technology. Celebrations include a special Frontiers of Measurement Meeting to be held at the Institute of Physics in London on March 21st . There are a number of distinguished speakers, with whom we have a lot of common interests. These include:

Bruce Tromberg of the Beckman Laser Institute in California. Bruce is one of the founding editors of the Journal of Biomedical Optics and of the early pioneers of biophotonics.

Patrick Gill of NPL. Winner of the IoP Young Medal in 2008, Patrick is well known for his work on cold trapped ion systems as optical frequency standards, quantum information processors and entanglement-based metrology.

Mervyn Miles FRS, Head of Nanophysics at Bristol University. Mervyn's work on atomic force microscopy and optical manipulation includes many seminal contributions.
