Dear all,
Please see the email below with details of the IAA Call for Proposals
for Developing Impact from EPSRC Awards. This is money that the
university has been given to distribute to those with EPSRC funding
(current or recently completed projects) where they wish to work with an
external partner to move towards some form of impact from the work.
Best wishes,
Paul

IAA Call for Proposals: Developing Impact from EPSRC Awards
Application Deadline: Monday 16 September 2013
The EPSRC<http://www.epsrc.ac.uk/Pages/default.aspx> has awarded a £1.86million investment to Strathclyde to support the development and acceleration of impact from our EPSRC-funded research portfolio. The Strathclyde Impact Acceleration Account<http://www.strath.ac.uk/rkes/rkedevelopment/iaa/> (IAA) will run for 3 years, from October 2012 to September 2015.
The IAA aims to make a permanent improvement in delivering impact from our research by engaging businesses and organisations to address the challenges we face globally. To facilitate engagement between external organisations and Strathclyde researchers and academics, Impact Champions will be appointed. These Impact Champions will be post-doctoral research associates that want to get involved in research projects or actively learn about the process of commercialisation and will engage with the knowledge networks across the University and will be the first point of contact for information requests from external organisations. Further information on Impact Champions can be found on the R&KE Portal<https://moss.strath.ac.uk/research/resportal/ke/iaa/ic/default.aspx>.
Focused around the implementation of Pathways to Impact Plans, the IAA will provide funding to support the Impact Champions via the following mechanisms:
* Impact Development Fund of up to £10,000
* Secondment opportunities
* Encompass funding – to support Scottish SMEs.
Further information on the IAA, including the application form, is available on the R&KE Portal<https://moss.strath.ac.uk/research/resportal/ke/iaa/default.aspx>. All applications must be received by 5pm on Monday 16 September and should be submitted to Tanya Kay (tanya.kay at strath.ac.uk<mailto:tanya.kay at strath.ac.uk>) or Fiona Deans (fiona.deans at strath.ac.uk<mailto:fiona.deans at strath.ac.uk>).
