Dear All,

I sent this email out at the beginning of the summer and so far have not
had a great response. My thanks to those of you who have already responded.

Can I urge you *all* to give me some kind of return if you have not
already done so.

This is another way in which every member of staff can contribute to our
REF profile.

We look particularly light in *plenary and invited talks*, and I simply
do not believe that our staff members have given so small a number of
conference talks.

Regards
John

Dear All,

I would like to produce a table for our REF environment narrative of
measures of esteem within the Department.
I would be grateful if you could supply me with the following if they
fall in the REF period (1 Jan 2008 onwards)

*Any Fellowships you hold or have held in the REF period (give dates
**please). **
**Any elections to learned societies, especially post-2008 elections. **
**Any medals/prizes won since 2008. **
**Journal editorships or editorial board memberships. **
**Conference chairs or section chairs/programme committee etc. **
**Conference plenary or major invited talks. **
**Membership of research council panels. **
**Any other things which show your contribution to the research
discipline. *

If you think any are particularly notable please highlight them
specifically for me.

Regards
John --
