Dear all,
A total of 28 examiners returned marks on 23 student talks delivered on Wednesday as part of the PH550 assessment. Thanks are due to every one of them for taking the time and making the effort (but hey, this is Strathclyde). The average mark was 64% with a high of 78 and a low of 48. (Pretty normal.)
The attached table turns to the examiners, arranged in order of the average marks awarded, with standard deviations. These statistics are not actually comparable, because each examiner assesses a different group of students, but I think ithe list provides a fair indication of who the heroes and villains might be (from the students' point of view of course).
Take that KPOD for example: he is clearly a standard deviation below the mean, and may need to work on his generosity bone over Christmas. At the same time, some examiners may need to curb their enthusiasm, or perhaps attend more talks in order to gain perspective.
Have a nice Christmas (party) and let me hear any comments you may have on these figures ir the 5th year projects in general.
Best regards,
Kevin
