Dear Professor Hough,

This is a follow-up on our original invitation to your department to participate in our Springer Theses programme.

Now in its fifth year the Springer Theses <http://www.springer.com/series/8790>programme has so far helped to disseminate the work of nearly 300 talented young scientists, many who have gone on to win other awards and/or take up leading research positions.

This year we would once again like to invite your department to select an outstanding thesis for inclusion in this program. On publication, the author will receive a prize of Euro 500. The thesis chosen should make a significant contribution to research in the area addressed, should be written in good English, and should have been examined and passed in 2013. Please also recall the requirement that no more than 30% of the text should already have been published verbatim.

Please do share this invitation with the supervisors of potential candidates. If you have any questions or comments, I will be very happy to discuss them with you.

To ensure that the research is published with a minimum of delay, we would request that you send us your nomination by the end of March 2014.
