Dear colleagues,

Below you will find details of a new round of funding from the
University's Knowledge Exchange Development Fund (KEDF) which aims to
assist collaboration with an external organisation. The deadline for
application is Fri 30th May 2014.

Best wishes,

Paul

      Knowledge Exchange Development Fund (KEDF)

The University's Knowledge Exchange Development Fund exists to support
the pump priming of KE activities between the University and external
organisations. In particular, KE activities requiring start-up funding,
which can demonstrate a return on investment and future income
generation, are encouraged.

Proposals which have collaborative activities between faculties and/or
multi-disciplinary aspects will be viewed favourably, as will proposals
which will enhance knowledge exchange with organisations (in industry,
government or the third sector) in any of the following four sectors:
Health; Energy; Advanced Manufacturing; and Future Cities. Cross-sector
proposals are also encouraged.

In addition, applications to the KE Development Fund should clearly
state how this work will contribute to the achievement of faculty and
departmental targets in line with the University's Outcome Agreement
<http://www.strath.ac.uk/media/publications/strategicplan/Outcome_Agreement_2013-14.pdf>
with the Scottish Funding Council. Faculty targets are available from
the Vice Dean KE for your faculty.

Bids are invited for a maximum total of £20,000 per proposal, of which
up to 50% can be from the KE Development Fund, with the remaining 50%
co-funded from other sources such as faculty or department funds.

Proposed activities requesting funding should be scheduled to occur
before December 2014. However, bids should clearly set out how the KE
activity will continue after this time.

The funding requests will be considered by the staff who meet regularly
to evaluate proposals to the Impact Acceleration Account. For this
purpose the Vice Deans KE for HASS and Business will join the meetings
already scheduled.

Requests for an application form and any enquiries regarding the call
should be directed to Yvonne Kinnaird (yvonne.kinnaird at strath.ac.uk
<mailto:yvonne.kinnaird at strath.ac.uk>)

The closing date for applications is *5pm on Friday 30th May 2014*.
(Applications should be sent by email to Yvonne Kinnaird).
