Dear Vice Deans

The Counselling Service has recently published a guide to Helping Distressed Students. This is intended as a resource for colleagues in any student facing role who may deal with students who are upset, distressed or in crisis and is intended to guide staff through some basic questions to help them identify appropriate responses, referrals and resources in dealing with initial contact from such students.

We are also hoping to develop some short staff development activities to complement the guide.
